failed FTP install :-(

I am trying to install SuSE 6.1 onto a Compaq LTE 486/75 laptop with 16 Meg or RAM. I boot with the boot disk, set up my PCMCIA card (it's recognized as an ne200, port 0x300, IRQ 3, chip set i82365, no parameters entered for the chip set). I tell it to install via FTP and put in all the correct IP addresses. I successfully connect to another SuSE 6.1 box and it starts to load. The dialog box says "Loading data into ram disk" and it freezes at about 80% done. :-( Now what do I do? ;-(
