Maybe this is only for NetworkManager, I don't see such an option for ifup/down.
Every time the NIC is brought up, it should assume it's on a different network and run the dhcp client. What possible justification is there for not doing so?
Sure, I'm pretty certain that is the current situation. However, "being brought up/down" != "cable being plugging in/out". (afaik).
How is plugging in a cable supposed to be different from using ifdown/ifup?
The former is a physical status, the latter an admin desire :-) For instance, plugging in the cable does not imply you also want the interface brought up. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (4.2°C) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
