Do you have a line in /etc/modules.conf like alias eth0 sis9000
I have 1 of these sis9000 built in to my motherboaerd, and it's been working fine. The only thing I can think of is 1. You didn't do a mk_initrd after installing the kernel. 2. The sis9000 is turned off in the bios settings 3. The kernel you have is bad. -- use Perl; #powerful programmable prestidigitation
