Another thread on this mailing list that I was reading this morning made me wonder if a change I made to the fstab for the USB would affect the iPod this way. To enable USB in VirtualBox I changed the USB line from: =========== usbfs /proc/bus/usb usbfs noauto 0 0 ===========
to: =========== usbfs /proc/bus/usb usbfs devgid=1001,devmode=664 0 0 ===========
Does anyone here know iPods enough to know if this small change would prevent the iPod from being detected when it it plugged into the USB port?
Perhaps. I forgot to mention that the devgid should match the vboxusers group gid. Sorry if this caused you any problems, I just checked my fstab.
