I have an IBM Thinkpad R51e with a fresh install of 11.3 plus KDE 4.5 stable - after figured out to use "nodemodeset", the system at first ran fairly stable, but then started ending my session at seemngly arbitrary times. In the log found:

I've looked through Xorg.0.log, but I don't see much that could hint at a reason for the above. Where do I need to look?
What video card do you have? There is a known problem with a whole slew of intel video cards. See bug https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=615649 As a workaround you either may 1. Insert a line Driver "intellegacy" into /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-device.conf You need a boot parameter "nomodeset" in that case 2. Use hack#45 of the above bug. (Regress to xf86-video-intel-2.10.0) Don't use "nomodeset" in that case 1) gives you Xvideo, but in my case still resulted in random crashes. 2) does not give you Xvideo (LinearAlloc does not seem to work) but is stable.
