Next case: if you have experience with Linux, can repair from time to time minor issues and want the "latest and greatest" with all related risks and reasonable guaranties you will choose Tumbleweed instead.
Agreed, but the scope is much greater. Yes and lets not forget that there are many other repositories as well as the build service. If you have specific needs there are many user contributed projects under the build service. If you want a more up to date kernel there is Kernel_Stable. And obviously there is the Packman repository and similar which might be considered an essential. Let me give a specific example. I use openSuse for photography. I make use of a more up to date version of 'darktable' than is in the distribution because it is a project that is being very actively developed. To read the large capacity cards from my camera or phone I need to be able to read (and write) exFAT https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ExFAT The drivers for that are not in the distribution because of copyright reasons. I have to find them in another repository. The same might apply if you want to use openCloud, Docker, various Apache based specific projects. So it doesn't matter if I use 13.1, 13.2 or Leap, I'm going to have to turn to other repositories to address my specific use case, and I expect that there are many people in a similar situation. -- A: Yes. > Q: Are you sure? >> A: Because it reverses the logical flow of conversation. >>> Q: Why is top posting frowned upon? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
