Tell FF to search in the page for "Foxit reader", then hit free download.
I can not give the URL of the button or the popup because it doesn't have one.
Maybe:
http://cdn01.foxitsoftware.com/pub/foxit/reader/desktop/linux/2.x/2.4/en_us/...
but I don't know if it will work.
OK, downloaded FoxiReader and installed it. Problem is that when one tries to find, from the menu screen, the pdf file you want in the directory it is in the whole thing freezes and won't respond :-). Any clues about this minor hassle? :-).
Doesn't happen here. I'm using version 2.4.4.0911 - yep, the same as the tar above. They don't seem to update often.
Normally I fire it up directly from 'mc' with the file name to open appended. But most times I use evince.
Maybe if the directory has many pdf? ... No, the open dialog opens fast here, no cpu load.
Well, I have worked out the peculiarity(ies) of FoxitReader -- and it appears tobe no different to what one experiences in Ocular: you have to ADD to the page number which you want to print the Covering (blank) page and then any pages numbered in the Latin numerology. So in the case of my Huawei User Manual I had to add 4 (blank page + i + ii + iii = 4 to be able to start printing a range of pages, or even a single page. However, there is also the ability to see exactly which page U want to print. On the extreme left side there is a column where the second icon represents pages. Click on that and all the pages of the pdf document are shown from top to bottom with the exact page number shown at the bottom of each page. I suspect the same arrangement is in Ocular so I will go looking there at some time soon. OH! Almost forgot! When you start FoxitReader you see a big '+'. This seems to indicate that clicking on this '+' you will open a new file or at least open A file. Clicking on this '+' is where Foxit hangs. To open a file use the File option (upper top).
