[SuSE Linux] Kernel 2.2

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I have SuSE 5.2 and just for kicks I compiled kernel 2.2. When I try to run my ppp scripts, (they worked fine before) I get this error</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>ioctl(SIOCADDRT) device route: Network is down</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>/var/log/messages says I connect fine, and get an IP assigned etc just like its sposed to, but it has that error in it. I assume I am just missing something in the network configs but I don't know what it is, and I don't wanna just start trying things.
