You forgot to mention what openSUSE version did you download. (12.1 current stable or 12.2 Milestone in development), 32 or 64 bit.
Please clarify to replicate your experience.

This surely must be a typo there, Duaine.
This is what *12.2* Milestone #2 Build #302 KDE LIVE "CD" 32-bit does.
KDE LIVE 12.1 is fine.
