Noticed: After restart the computer, the settings I previously set in gnome-config-panel are lost. I like the solution below, but the wallpaper problem is unacceptable. Any solutions? </Jared> On Thu, 2003-07-31 at 22:34, Timothy Hanson wrote:
This doesn't answer anything you asked, but I just had the same problem last week. Are you aware that most gnome applications' preferences are set in gconf-editor?
Also, I have the gnome-settings-daemon run when I start fvwm2, but you could do the same in your .xinitrc or kde init file. The problem I haven't been able to solve when starting that daemon is that it insists on using the wallpaper you set in the gnome config, obliterating whatever your window own manager puts there. If anyone has a solution, I'd like to hear it.
