For the 'answer': KDE4 is NOT included in 11.0 as an OPTION per se.
Regardless of where it appears in the menu, if it's not a required component, it's an optional component and thus an option.
The bottom line to your question about "what ... answer would make [you] happy?" is that KDE4 should be placed in the "OTHER" option of the installation process and only be listed as a main item when it is really ready of that ranking.
What if (and understand I'm speaking from a position of no ability to make the change happen - as far as openSUSE is concerned, I'm just another user) there were a dialog or some other indication that KDE4 was beta quality? Maybe requiring an additional prompted agreement (kinda like the installer does for afga-fonts, acrobat reader, etc)? Just a thought.
