I tried to use the new dev kernel, and it appeared to compile and install correctly, but when i tried to boot it from lilo, it restarted the comp. I compiled just like when i updated from 2.0.33 to 2.0.35, but this time it didn't work. I would like to use the new kernel, because it has a driver for my sound card. any help would be greatly appreciated.
You can't just run a dev kernel, there are other things you need to upgrade. Go to <A HREF="http://www.linuxhq.com"><A HREF="http://www.linuxhq.com</A">http://www.linuxhq.com</A</A>> for a list of the packages you need to upgrade to run a 2.1.x kernel, and remember that these are still unstable kernels, so expect some behaviour you wouldn't get from a 2.0.x kernel. -- ==================================================================== Michael Lankton <A HREF="http://tasteslikechicken.ml.org"><A HREF="http://tasteslikechicken.ml.org</A">http://tasteslikechicken.ml.org</A</A>> ==================================================================== - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
