Hi,
On my opensuse 10.3 I cannot open VMware Workstation anymore.
Which vmware version do you use?
I use 5.5.5 | 09/18/07 | 56455 | 109 MB Workstation
If I try to open it I get this message:
~> vmware /usr/lib/vmware/bin/vmware: error while loading shared libraries: libavahi-glib.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Interesting: vmware version 1.0.4 build-56528 does not search (need?) for "libavahi-glib". I made a "strace -fox -s 4096 vmware" and searched for the libavahi error, but I do not see this.
/usr/lib/vmware/bin/vmware: /usr/lib/vmware/lib/libpng12.so.0/libpng12.so.0: no version information available (required by /usr/lib/libcairo.so.2) /usr/lib/vmware/bin/vmware: /usr/lib/vmware/lib/libpng12.so.0/libpng12.so.0: no version information available (required by /usr/lib/libcairo.so.2)
This errors I do also see, but for me vmware (version 1.0.4 build-56528) works as expected.

What does this mean, and how can I get rid of it ?
Perhaps, rerun vmware-config.pl or update :-)
I have done that, but no luck.
