Here's another example of Microsoft's tactics in fighting Unix: the way they've hijacked the Kerberos password protection system so that the Win2000 version won't work properly with Unix servers (any flavor of Unix, presumably). According to the article, it's part of MS's strategy to "embrace, extend-and extinguish" competing technologies.
