Select from xconsole window and paste into konq....does not work.
There are about a jillion inconsistencies I have experienced so far. Unfortunately I don't rmemeber where so that I can describe them.
I wish I could disable this mouse-select-paste feature. It really sucks. Here's why:
In the middle of my work I sometimes have to cut'n paste a URL into konq address bar. That way to do it in windows is to:
1) Select your new URL that you want to paste into address bar and do CTRL+C. 2) Double click inside the address bar to select the old URL. 3) do CTRL+V. This essentially replaces the old URL with the new one that you wantr
In Linux this does not work. Becase step 2) automatically puts the old URL into the paste buffer---replacing the URL that you wanted to paste in the address bar. I either have to to to klipper and select the URL that I really wanted or replace step 2 with:
2b) Do not double click inside the address bar. Instead. Click inside. Go to the end of the URL by using the END key on the keyboard. Hold BACKSPACE for a couple of seconds to delete the old URL completely. And then paste the new URL into the window.
Definitely this takes longer. I wish I could just disable this feature. The quick way is to move over the web page currently displayed to a place where you aren't over a link and click the middle mouse button (if you are over the link, you end up openning a new window). This will do what you were talking about without having to highlight or anything. Works in Konqueror and Netscape (probably Mozilla too).
