Dual booting SuSE73 and Win XP

I have SuSE 73 and Win XP. XP has replaced my 2K installation on my machine. However, I found after installing XP, lilo would not run. It only got as far as LIL. I used the 1st SuSE CD to manually boot my linux partition and then restored lilo to the MBR and now XP refuses to start. Restoring the MBR allows XP to start but lilo fails again, even if I run it from a floppy. Has anyone got any ideas as to what is going on, where to start or how to fix it? I know how some of us feel about MS windows but please can we forego the MS wise cracks. I would be grateful for any practical advice. Thanks Eddie
