no, it has created them. it has created serious ones also. Where as before you had a stupid device that walked through ROMs and dependent on the actual presense of hardware, you have now replaced that is a fully intelligent OS that has attack vectors all along the boot process. It is a nasty business.
This is wrong. Boot kits have existed for a long time on BIOS systems, well predating UEFI. Please don't make things up just to demonstrate your ire for UEFI's over complications.
