Devs,
Recently there have been posts about removing openSUSE-repos-XXX to improve mirror performance and allow listing additional mirrors in the baseurl= option.
What are these packages and why or why not to remove them?
That explains it, done: For bash, you can improve the restore from /etc/zypp/repos.d as: # for i in *rpmsave; do mv "$i" "${i%.rpmsave}"; done; unset i
Why can't I just add the nvidia repo as a normal repo as we have always done?
You can.
Hopefully somebody will get around to updating the nvidia packages to support the Linux 6.10 kernel for Tumbleweed in the official repo before 6.11 is released... ;) Repos updated and refresh times greatly improved without the openSUSE-repos-xxx rpms installed. There are issues with that scheme and US mirrors.. About to dupe and we will see how it goes. -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E.
