Just a simple question: Is officially supported the network upgrade with a jump from versions ? Like 11.4 ---> 12.3 or similar. Or is always better upgrade without jumps? 11.4 -> 12.1 -> 12.2 -> 12.3 ....
Cordially,
Claudio. The only supported way is one version jump at a time.
In theory you can do as you suggest, but you risk having issues that no one else has seen.
fyi: If you don't know, the evergreen project is still backporting security fixes to 11.4. That will continue for another year or two.
Greg Only for testing: i have tested a live update from 11.4 to 12.3....result? Strange, 12.3 starts with systemV, and not systemD, and naturally the network don't startup automatically. Removing from yast systemvinit, it automatically installs systemd, and network starts correctly.
Other test: updated 11.4 to 12.3 from DVD, and the update is perfect! No problems at all. Cheers, Claudio. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
