Unless you have a very special reason to use kaffeine, replace it with vlc - does everything kaffeine can do and then some..... With vlc you can watch TV, play DVDs, stream video, capture TV programs or streamed video, play CDs - and you can even do some editing of video files if I remember correctly (haven't used this feature for some time). (kaffeine has been what is used to be for about 12 moths+ now. If you compare the controls for it now as against what they were back then you will find that many have been "omitted" in the current version(s).) But, of course, it is a matter of personal choice.
