sound prob after upgrade to 9.0

Hello All, I have a strange problem after upgrading my SuSE 8.2 to 9.0 when using application from KDE there is no sound problem but if I used xmms it claim that the ressources is busy even if there is no apparent other application using the sound card.. have any body else has a similar problem Thanks for any help. ===== \\|// - ?
