How do I go on?
I am thinking whether or not installing OpenSUSE (rather then Novell SUSE) is a big mistake to me.
Hi again Zhang Weiwu! No, you did not make a mistake. SUSE 10.0 is great (running it right now) and jEdit is my *favorite* 'editor'... of course, is much more with all the plug-ins. You need to add online installation sources providing packages that aren't included in the .iso files. Here are my installation sources. I hope you remember how to undo, or reverse, the changes you have made... it will make this process much easier if you have no conflicts in your existing installation... * ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-10.0-OSS/inst-source-java * http://packman.rsync.zmi.at/suse/10.0 ftp://ftp4.gwdg.de/pub/suse/i386/10.0/inst-source-extra ftp://ftp4.gwdg.de/pub/suse/i386/10.0/SUSE-Linux10.0-GM-Extra ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/suse/i386/supplementary/KDE/update_for_10.0/yast-source ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-10.0-OSS/inst-source http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/misc/suser-guru/rpm/10.0/ You will probably have better download speeds if you use mirrors that are nearer to you. Nice hearing from you! Dog treat: X--X regards, Carl
