I've seen this before, and it's reared it's head again on my oS11.3 install... I cannot mount fixed NTFS drives in Dolphin. If I click the drive it just errors out with the usual cryptic error message:
org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.PermissionDeniedByPolicy: org.freedesktop.hal.storage.mount-fixed auth_admin_keep_always
So.. that's nice and all, but what's the "right" solution to sort this out?

Any ideas? I suppose I could define the drive in my fstab, but I'd prefer not to... I'd rather mount it only when needed... just like I do with USB drives.
Can you mount NTFS formatted external USB drives in Dolphin?
That's a good question. I don't have any NTFS USB drives to test with... all are ext3, Reiser or FAT32. I should say that if I add the drive to the fstab, I can access it fine from Dolphin.... because it's already mounted. Might all be related to this bug? https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=179289 What puzzles me is that (according to multiple forum entries) it's not a problem with other KDE distros.. just openSUSE.
