I encountered something similar on an old 300 Mhz PII installing 7.3 to dual boot with NT. The 7.3 installer wanted to shrink a partition from 1 Gb to 390 Mb and didn't offer an alternative that I felt confident would preserve the data on the partition.
I solved this one by deleting all the partitions on NT above the 1 Gb one. Then the 7.3 installer didn't offer to resize and installation could continue.
But how can I do the same here John ?.
I had defragmented the 1 Gb (vfat16) partition by copying the data back and forward between a higher partition; so all the data was in the first 390 Mb. Unfortunately, if I'd shrunk the partition there wouldn't have been any room left for new data.
Exactly what I had in mind :-)

Hi.
I have a Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook C6155 with a win98SE partition on 10GB. The full capacity of the HDD is 20GB.
The last and free 10GB I want to install with SuSE 7.3.
Why are the 7.3 suggesting a shrinking of the WIN98 partition to 4GB ??.
