what exactly do you need to know? are you talking about setting up a home lan using wireless network cards and a dsl connection to get to the internet? if so, that will work and will be fairly easy to do. i wouldnt worry with installing a linux box for this (gateway/firewall) but rather just buy a linksys wireless dsl/cable router/switch device. you can get them now with a dsl/cable port, 4 or 8 port switch for ethernet and wireless connectivity for wireless cards. just plug the dsl line into the linksys, enter a few things like username, password, local lan addresses, whether you want it to do dhcp or not and thats about it. now for the clients, just install a wireless network card, enter and ip address or pull one via dchp from the linksys router and that should be it. later on you can setup a linux box and do some port forwarding and experiment with mail, dns, ftp, webservers, etc. On Fri, 19 Oct 2001, Dennis J.
