I'm using OpenSuse 11.0 32bit os. I was using kde4. Since it was a recent installation I experimented with a few different wall papers, tried to get different ones on each desktop like kde3 - gave up. Then tried a few Compiz opitions - didn't work - no big deal. Then the system started bogging down badly. Checking the system monitor it should KDE4 as zombie. I decided to shut everything down and reboot. When I rebooted, it booted to the login screen, then after logging in, it played some start up music and booted to a completely black screen with a useable arrow cursor, but nothing else on the screen. I finally rebooted and logged in using iceWM, which works fine. But I'd like to find out if there is a way to get KDE4 back, short of removing it with yast and re-installing it.
