You could try checking the horizontal and vertical resolution from Monitor documentation. I did a search on the Internet to get this information. Then put the info in manually in Sax2. Brian Marr On Saturday 15 September 2001 04:01, you wrote:
Hello,
I finally got my new HD and am installing Linux on it while I sort out my IDE RAID issues...
While running Yast2 to install Suse 7.1 I reach the point where it is checking the video/graphics card. It actually finds a driver and puts the card configuration window. My problems are:
1. It only give 640 x 480 resolution option. Others are greyed out. This card clearly has much higher res. How do I get better resolution selected? Is there anothe rdriver for this card?
2. When I try the settings TEST it doesn't do anything. I just see the dialog / settings window flash again. If I hit ESC as they ask nothing happens. If I hit next it tells me run TEST first. I hit TEST many times but when I hit next, it tells me run TEST first...
3. I disabled the configure X11 and was able to finish Linux installation (i.e. I got past item #2). However, when the machine boots, it comes up in command line mode and logs me in in command line mode. I guess the graphic card driver never installed. I tried launching Gnome and got lots of X11 errors.
What should I do?
Thanks for y'all's help in advance.
