Dear list members:
I have the following problem with DVD installation in SuSE linux 9.2 When I want to add DVD to the installation sources in YaST (YaST -> Software -> Change source of installation -> Software
Ken Schneider
panel: Add -> DVD) I get the following error message:
Unable to create installation source from URL 'dvd:///'. Details: ERROR(Media:mount failed) Try again?
Did you have the DVD in the drive when you were trying to add the DVD source?
Yes, I had the DVD in the drive. But this thing becomes more and more weird. I updated KDE 3.3.2 to 3.4 in the meantime. After this I tried to add DVD to the installation sources again and it gave a different message that says: There is no product information available at the given location. If you expected to address a product, return back and enter the correct location. To make rpm packages located at the specified location available in the packages selection, continue. Clicking on continue resulted in addition the following line in the sources window: (status name url) on dvd://// dvd:/// (4 slashes) (3 slashes) This is strange since this is a 9.2 install dvd and it worked for me on other systems and also can be used to boot this system.
