You should either use nouveau or nvidia. They don't play well together.
I don't use both. I only use nouveau. The above output comes from lspci, which shows all of them. lsmod doesn't show nvidia as a loaded module.
Try to add the line
blacklist nouveau
I use modprobe.blacklist=nvidia[-uvm|-drm|-modeset] in the kernel command line. [...]
I have similar problems. The latest nvidia drivers (anything after 367, I think) leaves junk on the screen after resume.
nvidia driver works perfectly here, but I use 367.57.
I'm looking for ways to permanently disable 3D in KDE and the composer. I don't need fancy 3D effects on my desktop; 3D in games is enough for me.
