This looks very much like you lost 3D support for your graphics card during an update.
Somewhere else in this thread you wrote you have an ATI Radeon (9600?). So you might want to follow these instructions to get 3D graphics up and running again:
I am concerned. The on-line documentation on the web site you indicate states that the driver expects SuSE kernel to be updated. How can I make sure my system satisfies this requirement ? Moreover, scrolling through this mailing list messages I noticed the recurrent subject about the last kernel updates failure or the like .... I am at a loss. I have to find a solution to this stumbling block. On the other hand I am afraid to have the kernel messed up as well. Regards, Maura
