stupid question probably here...
Those of us that have never used an anti-virus program on Linux and brag to their MS friends that they don't need to wonder why on Linux one is needed?
Why have the extra overhead on the machine?
AV programs are often used on mail or file servers, for Windows users.
I actually have clam running on my laptop. It is just an added sense of security that I don't become an unwitting zombie. The funny thing was I inquired to AVG about their antivir proggie for Linux. The list price is currently $800. I asked if they had a personal version. They replied that they only supply versions to servers. I asked what the difference between a workstation and a server in Linux was. I haven't gotten an answer yet. -- Kai Ponte www.perfectreign.com || www.4thedadz.com remember - a turn signal is a statement, not a request
