Martin to Everybody: Hello! I had problems installing SO5 for some time and happily discovered that installing the SVGA server resolved the "freeze" problem, while on the other part, it deprived my nice Netscape icons from their colour when under 24bpp resolution. My intentions are, however, to use the XF86_S3V server, which is adapted to the "S3 Virge DX/GX rev.1" card I have... with the 24bpp resolution. Unfortunately, SO5 is still freezing, even now that it is installed. 1st quest: I heard, not a long time ago, someone speaking about a patch resolving the problem... can I know where to find it, please? 2nd quest: after having freezed with X-window, I was forced to switch off and on again my computer. That procedure induced an everlasting disk-check. The message was something like: partition not cleanly unmounted. Check forced. hda2 (2,6on contiguous) etc... Well. What does that mean? If I get freezed one more time or two I will have "100% contiguous" : ) Hope it won't happen : ( Thank you for the answers.
