If you think the fonts are too big, reconfigure the fonts. If your I prefer changing the dpi because it applys to all apps ( Gnome, KDE, ... ) display really is 72 (nominal) rather than 96, then you should go ahead and change the monitor DPI setting. I don't understand, the bigger it is, the bigger the fonts are, isn't it ?
