Has anyone noticed an occasional tendency for their display to go completely blank when logging out? It is not every time, maybe 50%. And it's all screens, not just the X screen. A reboot is necessary.
Here: XFree 4.3.0, KDE 3.1, Mantel 2.4.20-30 kernel, and new Radeon 7000 video card.
I've had a similar problem ever since I moved to an AGP video card, I have a Savage4. I used to use control-alt-backspace to drop out of X, but now when I do it, it sometimes works, sometimes locks up the machine. 50-50. So now I have to Exit X by issuing a "Quit" command to my fvwm window manager. Then I leave X perfectly each time. -- use Perl; #powerful programmable prestidigitation
