openSSL upgrade 0.9.7d

Hi guys, I'm trying to update openSSL on my SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 8.0. My current version is 0.9.6a, I have downloaded 0.9.7d from openssl.org I'm trying to compile using ./Configure, nothing happens, I tried ./Configure linux-pentium again stuff scrolls on the screen but it does not update openssl. Any advise will be very useful. Thanks Fareed
