I would say init scripts are about total control, for*me*.
I am finding, not that I've taken the time to learn about them and how they work, as I once did with shell scripting, with regular expressions and grep, with awk, with perl and more, that they give me all the control I could ever want. Of course if you decide to be antagonistic from the outset then you will never take that interest and dedicate that effort and so things like systemd -- or as I can see Linux at all for Windows <strike>users</strike> devotees -- then it will always be a hurdle and impenetrable and worthy only of derision. Heck, there are people out there who won't touch the *NIX stuff because stuff from the 1960 gives then "total control". -- "If I must write the truth, I am disposed to avoid every assembly of bishops; for of no synod have I seen a profitable end, but rather an addition to than a diminution of evils; for the love of strife and the thirst for superiority are beyond the power of words to express." -- Father Gregory Nazianzen, 381 AD -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
