This seems to be a SuSEfirewall2 config problem. Any insights are welcome.
Try looking for a verbose firewall log to see what rule the packets are breaking. There are also other places to look for help. openSuSE has networking and security lists. openSuSE Mailing Lists http://lists.opensuse.org/ And LinuxJournal has a security editor, Mick Bauer.
