Thanks jdd,
here and fire up 11.1, Will report back later or tomorrrow.
just as a test, I tryed to change my hostname again. in Yast (11.1), it's in network/networksetup, third tab and you can tick 'change the /etc/hosts file. after this (monacer changed to monacer2): monacer2:/etc # grep -R monacer * HOSTNAME:monacer2.perso hosts:127.0.0.2 monacer2.perso monacer2 hosts.YaST2save:127.0.0.2 monacer2.perso monacer2 postfix/main.cf:myhostname = monacer2.perso printcap:hp5m|HP LaserJet 5M - CUPS+Gutenprint v5.0.2:rm=monacer.perso:rp=hp5m: printcap:hp4100|HP Photosmart c4100 series Foomatic/hpijs, hpijs 2.8.7.3:rm=monacer.perso:rp=hp4100: samba/smb.conf: netbios name = monacer so now YaST do most of the work, and the konsole promt is good without extra restart. Only cups is not updated. this didn't work a month ago, so probably something have changed (may be non directly YaST related) jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://valerie.dodin.org http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-eic8MSSfM http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1412160445 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
