But we understood that you were using packages from some extra repository :-p
Well, I have rebuilt the package myself for the current kernel version, because after a kernel update it has missed the module during boot. And this hack called weak-updates isn't really obvious. I can now remember weakly some discussion with Marcus Meißner in bugzilla about the big doubts and what would be the best way when introducing this. But I still can't remember the topic and so don't know the reason why it has been introduced and why they simply doesn't provide matching packages. Also not sure why they put these modules overall in a kernel module directory. When linking (whatever the cause is) the more obvious hack would be to have a separate directory and link from all kernel module dirs to this separate one. Then it would be obvious that it isn't part of the exact kernel version and also wouldn't be deleted accidentally when cleaning up old directories. Yes, but this seems to be not the right place to talk about it. So have nice holidays.
