Hi 12.2 to 12.3 upgrade. KDE.
Hi everyone I could never connect to my tablet in 12.2. It needed a udev rule or something. In 12.3, upgraded from 12.2 it just works. No udev rule nor nothing. But it's a bit hit and miss. Sometimes I can edit a file I created e.g. in /mnt/local/Downloads on the tablet, and sometimes I can't. If I drag the file to the desktop, edit it and then drag it back to the tablet, then it's OK. If I try to edit it by just clicking it from the Dolphin window, it first seems to copy the file to /var/tmp before opening it. That's the bit which seems to take the time and produce a permission error.
1. Do I need a udev rule? 2. Must I copy files from the tablet first to be able to edit them? 3. Do I have any control over which folders I can see from the tablet? (I don't have the tablet rooted, maybe I should?)
Thanks L, x

Is this one of the more reliable options for mounting Android devices right now? I've updated go-mtpfs to the latest from Hanwen's github and added it to devel:languages:go so I can keep an eye on it (there's a new Go release due soon). Let me know if there are any issues with this build. http://software.opensuse.org/ymp/devel:languages:go/openSUSE_12.3/go-mtpfs.ymp?base=openSUSE%3A12.3&query=go-mtpfs There are also builds for 12.2, Factory and Tumbleweed but not 12.1 at the moment as I don't have time to figure out the libusb related build failure.
