Samba Sharing Dies

On SuSE 9.3 when I go to browse a Windose box from Konq I often get the error "The process for the smb://w2k-guest protocol died unexpectedly.". If I choose to browse a high level directory with very few files and no more than 1 or 2 sub-directories, all goes well, but if I try to browse a directory with a large number of sub-directories (eg. C:\WINNT) the router lights flash madly for about 10-15 mins and then I get the above error. I have no problem seeing any of the shared directories on the Linux box from the W2K box. Anyone got any thoughts about how I might have misconfigured Samba? TIA Dave
