Given that I'm running KSynaptics under Gnome, under SuSE 10.1, how can I get my preferred configuration to be "persistent" or at least have it automatically restored at login?
The supplied version of KSynaptics on the cd/dvd (0.2.4) is broken in that respect. If you add: ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/repositories/home:/cboltz/SUSE_Linux_10.1 as an installation source you will find a functional version (0.3.1). Alternatively, you could use the commandline configuration utility synclient (which comes in the x11-input-synaptics package) to discover which options are available for the device and which values you need, then put them in your X11 config file.
