Does anyone have any suggestions? My initial thinking with 6.1 was the kernel and was hoping that the problem had been corrected with the updated kernel in 6.2. I hate to have to break down and get a new machine since

Have you ever tried running one of the 2.2 kernels from the 6.1 or 6.2 disks on your 6.0 box? I've used all three of them, 2.2.5, 7, and 10 on a 6.0 machine and it's truly a drop-in solution. Simply install the lx_suse RPM or linux and linclude RPMs, check the symlinks, and go. Trying one of these kernels would narrow it down from an `Installation problem, possibly the kernel' to an `Installation problem, probably YaST'.
