file. You need to extract the file first from the email. (!). Maybe the correct extension is ".eml". i do not think, if i change to .eml and try to open with thunderbrid, i get a empty window.
I would suggest your correspondent to first zip the excel file, then attach the zip instead. If mail programs think this is text, they can alter it. For instance, text attachments in email, like this one:
Content-Type: text/html; charset="us-ascii"
as i said above, sender is not able to change.
can change the line end marking and charset when going from windows to Linux or reverse. This is perfectly legal per the RFCS!
