Its kind of a toss-up for me. I had been compensating by increasing the font size from 9 to 11 or 12, and with 120 dpi I can reduce that back to 10-11 comfortably... but some rather full tool bars (like bookmarks on Firefox) start looking kind of cramped again.
Your 1024x576 image upload sizes have me confused. Does dropbox reduce them from what you uploaded?
It must, as I checked and the originals for both images are 1600x900.

WRT subject, there's apparently nothing you can do to improve the situation. You might want to track progress of https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=793565 by adding a CC for yourself.
