For the record again, nothing was changed here except the in-place upgrade from 15.5 to 15.6. And it worked before. I can't do zoom/teams meetings now!
Are you sure 15.6 doesn't use pipewire and wireplumber?
What does the following show:
$ ps axf | grep wire
If you see /usr/bin/pipewire, /usr/bin/wireplumber, etc, check wireplumbler with:
$ wpctl status
to list audio sources/sinks.
Hi David, ps lists both wireplumber and pipewire. wpctl shows four clients, but no audio/video sources/sinks/anything. But here's news: I couldn't find my old wired earbuds, so I connected my Tribit Bluetooth buds to the laptop. They showed up in the devices section of the Audio System Settings screen. I selected them and it works! That suggests that most of the plumbing works, but something in there just doesn't see the built-in speakers. They can't be selected. The default device is a USB headset that doesn't exist. I've also got another older laptop here from work that I recently did a full install of Leap 15.6 and it works fine with its internal speakers. Both laptops are HP. So something is blocking my speakers in there somewhere. It must be something in 15.6 because 15.5 and previous worked fine. Is this time for a bug report? Regards, Lew
