This is great info, but my problem borders on this, but not quit. I can mount data CD's and work just fine with the following: /dev/cdrom -> /dev/hdc /dev/cdrecorder -> /dev/sr0 /dev/dvd -> /dev/hdc
The problem is that I cannot play any music CD's (or rip them for that matter. when I ran the command above (scan_scsi.linux) my output was as follows:
Hold on, music CDs are not mounted, they do not have a filesystem. On the other hand, konkeror has a way of showing audio cds as if they had a filesystem on it, and copy/rip more or less transparently - but I don't use konkeror.
Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 00 Lun: 00 CD-ROM -> /dev/sg0 Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 01 Lun: 00 CD-ROM -> /dev/sg1
/dev/sg0 above if it matches the ide master, is my dvd-rom. the /dev/sg1 would then be my cdburner.
But you symlinked your dvd to hdc above :-?
If I follow the login above my DVD player should be /dev/sr0, and my Burner should be /dev/sr1?
Right now I don't remember the difference between sr and sg, it's early hours here O:-)
My fstab looks like this: /dev/cdrecorder /media/cdrecorder auto ro,noauto,user,exec 0 0 /dev/cdrom /media/cdrom auto ro,noauto,user,exec 0 0 /dev/dvd /media/dvd auto ro,noauto,user,exec 0 0
The weird thing is that I can mount Data Cd's properly, and read their files with my current config.
Yes, of course. As I said, audio cds can not be mounted. -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson
