Thanks for the advice. Amsn works fine, but seems to be a one-protocol thing. The beauty of gaim is that you use one client for all protocols: msn, jabber, icq, aim, etc ...
There must be a way of getting gaim to work. It's probably something with the SSL lbraries.
Gaim .71 seems to work for me with MSN. At least it gets to the point where it wants a .NET password and I refuse to get one of those.
