I know this may be a little off-topic - but here goes. I've got a bunch of old .fm (FrameMaker) files produced under FrameMaker on Solaris way back when. Does anybody know if there are any filters/converters that would allow me to read and edit those under OpenSuSE 11.x?
I don't have a ready solution for you (investigated these things looong ago), but I have a good hunch about which path might prove most likely to succeed: mif. Googled it and got a few hits that might prove interesting: <http://www.google.com/search?q=linux+framemaker+mif&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a> My guess is that chances are slim for finding something that can both parse and output pure framemaker files (which version, BTW?), unless you install FM for Linux (assuming you have it) and the files are the right version, or you get a current version of FM to run using Wine, CrossoverOffice or some virtualization software. Going via .mif format sounds like the way to go if you can't run FM itself. BR, Gudmund -- This message and any replies to it is scanned by http://www.fra.se.
