You said "all extended" :-) File attributes are not "extended attributes". Nor are permissions, etc. ACLs are extended, but you did not name "ACLs" in your list ;-) I'm trying to point out that your choice of words was confusing, because file attributes, permissions, links, are stored on tar archives (a device file is just a file with an attribute saying so).
File attributes, permissions, links, are not extended attributes, they are normal.
"normal"? as in existing on FAT32, initfs(ramdisks) or CD-ROM's? *poke*... :-)
